Any input from reps on how Rosa is being integrated into the sales cycle? Zimmer wanted to take business away from Mazor in Spine but Mazor just released X last week and they appear to be doing great with the help of Medtronic.
Is Rosa even being pushed much yet?

Anyone at AANS this week for the WalterLorenz surgical assist/Rosa Brain announcement?

Hardly a joke. Knee application coming in the back half of this year.
More business will be moved to Rosa and robotic applications. If you don't see that then you're blind. Depuy is getting ready to downsize and putting more resources into robotics. Get close to that business if you can. Otherwise, a lot of people from different companies will be looking for jobs at the same time.

The brain app is cool but the total knee with ROSA is what will make a difference for Zimmer.

Not having 510(k) for the nexgen ROSA has turned the Zimmer booth at NASS into a cluster f. Good luck answering questions all day at the booth and thanks again to Zimmer leadership for giving us another disadvantage against the competition.
Hanson knows ROSA won't even have an impact in spine until 2020 and then everyone else will be on nex-gen feature sets.

The same thing could be said about the majority of robotic surgeries performed in other specialties, and yet the hype-train rolls on.
There are years of evidence backing up up robotic surgery with the da Vinci. Try finding a good surgeon doing a prostatectomy without a robot these days. You can't.
Spine "robots" though? Tell me what benefit a spine "robot" has on a patient or a case? They are useless.

Prostatectomy is the only davinci procedure for which there was not already a widely adopted, minimally invasive option. There is no data to suggest that performing a particular surgery robotically produces significantly better outcomes than performing the same surgery with the traditional laparoscopic technique.
