Stryker IT Layoffs, Outsourcing and Reorg

There is a rumor going around of another reorganization and outsourcing in Stryker IT going on in Q3-Q4 in Kalamazoo. People are going to have to re-apply for their jobs. Are others hearing this same thing?

I haven't heard the HR rumor before. Could you clarify what part of Stryker this could happen?

The rumors of Stryker outsourcing every position outside of sales is getting out of control. The company cannot survive without finance, HR and IT.

Styker has started outsourcing finance and accounting in the same way they did IT. IT will eliminate final wave of individual contributors in 12-18 months. All finance individual contributors will be gone 1-3 years. Engineering seems safe for now. What dept will be next - HR?

Wipro tried and failed. Accenture - fail. They are transitioning to TCS now but they also use IBM and HCL for various areas. SLA's, internal customer satisfaction, and IT employee morale (for those left) are at all time lows since the strategy has been implemented.

Wipro tried and failed. Accenture - fail. They are transitioning to TCS now but they also use IBM and HCL for various areas. SLA's, internal customer satisfaction, and IT employee morale (for those left) are at all time lows since the strategy has been implemented.

Now that every single IT outsourcing firm hasn't worked out, maybe they can shift direction and increase morale by building up IT again? Outsourcing didn't work and they let go of many people who care about Stryker.

Wipro and Accenture didn't care about Stryker. Build up the organization with people who want Stryker to succeed because their livelihood depends on it. Then maybe the performance would improve to the best it's ever been.

They don't realize how they are messing with peoples lives and careers. This, from a company that promotes the slogan "We grow Talent". I am one of the lucky ones and got out on my own terms.

The global IS reorganization is call iHarmony and there is a third party vendor who will handle both application and infrastructure. Primary support by third party is expected to begin October 1. Stryker is preparing all IS employees for restructure. There will be new job titles and opportunities to apply for any open positions. Stryker prepared themselves for mass layoffs by changing the way vacation pay is accrued. Used to be you had all your vacation hours at the start of a new year. Stryker eliminated that and now you must accrue vacation hours each pay period.
