Alex Gorsky only made $20 million last year

We should all feel sorry for Alex Gorsky and his family for having such a precipitous drop in his compensation in 2018. Don't worry about the fact that he was still one of the highest paid CEO's in the industry, dropping from $29.8 million in 2017 to $20 million in 2018 would be a tough pill for anyone to swallow.

For any of you complaining about having a lowered commission plan or losing your job, think about it this way - you didn't lose $9 million last year, Gorsky did. I don't care if you can't afford gas or dinner, think about him tonight. Stop being selfish.

So Gorsky still makes $20 million even though the company took a $900 million write off for an investigation treatment for the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus company acquired in the Alios BioPharma deal? Let that sink in....$900 million write-off....

Another $775 million settlement between Bayer and JNJ for over 25,000 Xarelto lawsuits. We are talking about almost $1 billion for Alios and an extra $350 million if you split up the Xarelto settlement from Bayer. At what point does Gorsky be held accountable for all these lawsuits?

Between the lawsuit payouts and drop in executive compensation, there is a lot of money for JNJ to makeup. It’s the natural recipe for another round of layoffs!
