How many need to be reported before the company takes action? Customers have noticed and even worse, competitors have noticed and are using it against us in the field. Wake up people!!

Another one came out today, clean with not a drop of cement.

ATTUNE Revision was up 10% last quarter so that's a positive.

Reuters is reporting that J&J is willing to pay over $400 million to settle the Pinnacle Hip cases. Could this be a blueprint for Attune settlements?

Your manufacturing concerns are nothing....JNJ is working hard in certain markets to keep Attune on contract. The noise is real about Attune.

Our competition has done a great job convincing surgeons and hospitals that there is a loosening issue with Attune. JJG could have done a better job easing the concerns and getting the revision system out sooner. If you look at the data, it never should have happened. Four independent registries show Attune's loosening rates are better than the competition yet a lot of customers are convinced Attune has big time issues. The whole situation has become comical.

Funny you mention this. I had a meeting late last week with administration/surgeons and the administrator flat out asked me why Depuy advertises so much about the reliability of Attune. They showed examples from social media, print, etc and pointed out other companies rarely advertise, and when they do, they talk about product benefits, not reliability. The administrator basically said it makes Attune look bad and questioned his hospital's commitment to it.

What a day!!!

In fairness, they were referring to the Attune revision system but I get your point. The positive news is Depuy is beating me in my territory because Zimmer can't get product built and out the door!

Now ATTUNE revisions are considered a positive to JNJ on earnings announcements?

From earnings: Growth driven by ATTUNE Revision uptake

Don't @ me saying ATTUNE is being used to revise other knees because we all know that isn't true.

Smoke or reality, it does not matter...now materials management from large, powerful IDN's are taking notice of the complaints, lawsuits and chatter. All it takes for a large IDN are a couple of phone calls and emails to start a grassroots effort to pull Attune.

Look deeper....why else would big distributors and long time Depuy guys leave if they didn't sense something was coming down the pike? They have too much business in place and leaving would be stupid. Unless they know there is a bigtime Attune lawsuit coming. There is no other reason why so many long-timers would leave.

Why don't one of you Depuy reps **** that whistle? This whistleblower case could be huge. There has to be emails that implicate someone in marketing or a sales manager. **** that whistle. You will make more money in a whistleblower suit than you'll ever make at Depuy.

Did they have a moral compass during the ASR situation? Why would they handle it any differently now?

Almost 350 responses on this thread. Nothing has changed though. JNJ and Depuy put their heads in the sand and go about their day. Surgeons know it. All the reps know it but nothing has changed. Has it got worse? Maybe. I see Attune's pulled out each month. Sometimes weekly. I pulled up MAUDE this morning and the numbers are startling. Just in the last 30 days there are 321 reports on Attune. This is one of them.

Complaint description: the patient was revised to address loosening of the tibial component at the cement to implant interface. Depuy cement was used. It was reported that the tibial base subsequently failed due to mechanical loosening, during the revision the tibial base was found to have debonded at the implant-cement interface. The patient suffered injury, pain and disfigurement. Doi: (b)(6) 2015; dor: (b)(6) 2017; (right knee).

Don't forget that these are just the incidents that have been reported. I know for a fact that not all of the failures in my territory have been reported.

Does Depuy and JNJ have any moral compass?
