Is Mike Jones still the godfather of BSC Endo?

Yup. Now the genius is pushing for a US Endoscopy acquisition.

Is Mike Jones still the godfather of BSC Endo?

post

Agree acquisitions are key but endoscopy is still growing at a nice clip.

We estimate that endoscopy constitutes around 20% of Boston Scientific's value. The company has made a number of acquisitions to strengthen its endoscopic product portfolio in recent years. So why is it doing so? The medical devices market has become incredibly competitive, and mergers and acquisitions have become a norm for companies looking to streamline their medical device portfolios. Additionally, Boston Scientific is facing strong pricing pressure from new entrants, especially in interventional cardiology. To put things in perspective, Johnson & Johnson has exited much of the cardiovascular medical device business, owing to erosion of growth opportunities amid severe competition. This has prompted Boston Scientific to look towards endoscopy as a growth driver.

New comp is great for tenured reps. This place is awesome. This is complete sarcasm.

Have you seen the comp plan?

What does tenure have to do with comp? You're a SALES PROFESSIONAL. You should be paid on sales, and contribution to the organization. Not for getting annual raises based on a

Based on this post you don't work for the company or are a complete idiot. They did away with the tiers -- no incentive to stay.

I'm not an idiot and I do work here. The tenure based tiers are gone. So either you grow your business or contribute on a larger scale, or you stay at the same level. Tiers exist, but now they are based on who you are and what you bring to the table.
If you can't hack it, than by all means don't let the door hit you on the way out. And while you're looking for a new job, let us know if you find any sales org that gives you an annual raise based on doing nothing more than keeping your job from one year to the next.
I welcome the change. I grow my business, win awards, and do more for BSC Endo than all of the "tenured" guys who do nothing more than hug nurses and pretend that they matter in the labs. Now I have the ability to outrank and out earn the guys who have been here for 12 years and don't get out of bed.

It's impossible to work here and not be an idiot.

Second, with the exception of tier 1-2, they are not annual increases. Third, the transition was never automatic and tenured reps have lost status with lack of performance.

Fourth, you are clearly new here and full of **** and fury. Know that the strength of this sales force is because of the sr reps knowledge, experience and leadership (as well as training your 23 year old asses).

Fair points but why do you need Sr. reps to take orders?

Which part is BS?

The thought that the division wouldn't be here without the deadbeat sr reps

The tier 6 reps work 2-3 days a week and are disturbingly entitled. The new comp plan should tighten them up nicely.

This is the end.......the babies have figured it out!!

I think it is more of the fact jones can pay associate reps 80k to do the same job they were paying tier 6 reps 270k to do. The new comp plan will reward results, not tenure.

This is sales so not sure how people can complain about this one.

What's funny with all the complaining about the new comp plan you would think there would be a mass exodus.

Ironically, our senior reps are staying with their reduced pay.

image

Obviously there are a couple of you that are really interested in this topic and have no problem making retarded statements back and forth. As an almost-Senior rep who definitely works more than 2-3 days a week/ is very happy with making $200k even when averaging 50hrs a week because the reality is that is a lot of money no matter which way you cut it/ understands there are ebb and flows in every industry and with every company which doesn't mean it's the end of the world.......I want to point out a couple things specifically with this post:
-We just got the comp plan specifics on Thursday numbnuts; even if there was a mass exodus after seeing these for the first time, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't know about it yet.
-You're making blanket statements about reduced pay for Sr. Reps; I was leveled as a Principal rep and if I do exactly what I did sales-wise in 2014 (which wasn't anything to write home about), under the new plan I would have made $240k. The at-plan pay for tier 6 reps used to be $235k, so it's not necessarily a reduction for everyone (especially if they were leveled top tier to Executive). They key is territory size, level and % of strategic devices to total territory revenue. Not surprisingly, tenure is still a big factor in leveling. BUT no longer will tenure be the primary indicator for TM level.

In closing, most of the people posting on here are whiny little cunts. The other people are competitive trolls who are somehow trying to validate their worth by talking ****. Who ******* cares? We make great money and are the clear market leader that can rely on contracts when we need to. Will there be clip losses? Yes. But suck it the **** up until Res 2 comes out. If you can't handle high pressure sales, leave. But at least stay until NSM so you can watch a shitload of 23 year old chicks get hammered and make poor decisions.....BWAHAHAHA

You are actually what is wrong with this industry now. Too many blue collar white trash people from ohio are happy with the industry's (and bsc's) declining pay. Because gee pa, I am making more money doing this than if I worked at the local piggley wiggly. You are the most uncompetitive **** I have ever come across on any board in any industry. I expected more from you jones, I mean mr principal rep. Blanket statement or not, for many of us pay will go down.

Mike is nice, just ask him.

Well said. My favorite part of the previous post is the resolution clip loss comment. Res is going to take a major hit and your dimissal of it shows your lack of intelligence. Many high volume (amc) territories do close to 7-figures in clips sales. Safe to say we can consider much of that revenue gone. Tell me how can that be made up? How will many of us get back to "what we did last year"? You are a simplistic *****. Not that I need further evidence, but thank you for the vote of confidence that res 2 will ever see the light of day. More likely that Jesus himself will rise and walk out on stage at the nsm. Keep the cheerleading to yourself on your farm. Look on the bright side, if res 2 doesn't make it out maybe we can get twister 3 to save my comp.

Way too wordy for an Endo order taker.

For a Senior Rep, you make some worthy comments until you get to the end where you talk about banging 23 year old chicks. Keeping it classy my friend.

Another comment I find laughable is how you are happy making 200k working 50 hours/week when you were potentially pulling in 270k a couple of years ago? I thought a senior sales rep should be hungry and not a fat lard sitting on a couch content making 30% less than they are used to making.
