According to a report from CNBC, SmileDirectClub and CVS Pharmacy are partnering to launch a pilot store within CVS stores to fit people for invisible braces.
The pilot will be inside six CVS locations and will be called SmileShopExpress. In the store, people will be able to get a 3D scan that's used to create personalized invisible braces.
“CVS Pharmacy is committed to making health easier and more convenient for our customers,” a spokeswoman said in a statement. “As part of this commitment, we continuously test new programs and partnerships to enhance the customer experience.”
CVS already sells SmileDirectClub kits but this pilot program could increase brand awareness and access for SmileDirectClub.
In October of 2018, Bloomberg reported that SmileDirectClub raised $380 million in a new funding round, valuing the company at $3.2 billion.
