Posted on January 11, 2017 by Medtech[y] Staff
The annual MedReps' Best Places to Work in Medical Sales awards are out and the overall winners are very familiar with what has become a coveted award.
MedReps surveyed over 1,200 community members in order to come up with the winners and some of the biggest and well know medical sales companies came out on top. The overall winners went to: Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson and Stryker.
These same companies have taken the overall award since 2014 which is no surprise due to their overall size, competitive compensation and benefit packages. The awards also included small, medium & large company categories in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and Biotech.
Here are the overall winners and the top companies in each of the categories. For more detail on the awards, you can view the original article posted by MedReps here.
For the fifth consecutive year, Medtronic ranked #1 for best medical device sales companies, and this year, it landed the top spot in the overall vote as well. The company is widely respected by the medical device sales community, seen by many as the “holy grail” of employment opportunities.
“Medtronic has an amazing culture and really implores their representatives to run their business like a franchise. The organization bends over backwards even during times of a merger (Medtronic and Covidien) to ensure the satisfaction, safety and stability within the company walls. Great culture to work in, rewarding benefits and top of the industry compensation prove what a privilege and honor it is to work for Medtronic.”
Johnson & Johnson consistently pops up on Best Place to Work lists around the web, and it is a regular on the MedReps list as well. This year, J&J earned the title of the Best Large Pharma Company to Work For and was one of the top 3 companies overall.
“They live their credo, putting patients first and treating employees as individuals and not a number in a org chart.”
“Johnson & Johnson has a great benefits package, including pension. Treated well by management and great human resource department.”
Stryker sales jobs are in high demand, and in this year’s survey, the company was, once again, one of the top 3 most sought-after companies overall. Stryker is no stranger to the MedReps Best Places to Work list, and you’ll find Stryker on plenty of other lists of top companies around the web too. Why? Well, in addition to having a highly recognizable brand and a well-regarded product line, by all accounts, the company values its people. Several respondents used the word “family” when describing the company culture. Stryker shows that it cares about its people by investing in their training and development. The company prides itself on promoting from within.
“The company is centered around hiring people that are the best in their current industry in order to bring fresh new ideas to the organization. Family always comes first, but work is very important and becomes very enjoyable when you have such great peers and products to represent!”
“Stryker is my current employer and the best place to work. I have been in the industry for over 12 years and been a part of many organizations. However, Stryker surpasses all of them in the way they treat and develop their people. The culture of integrity, performance, and accountability is incredible. They are always focused on putting people first.”
“Stryker because they pay our sales force top dollar for performance. ”
It wouldn't be much fun if the list only focused on three of the biggest medical device companies in the world, would it? Of course not.
